Air Liquide Houpu achieved fruitful results in two years
Recently, Air Liquide Houpu (“ALHP”) celebrated its two-year anniversary in Chengdu. Air Liquide China CEO Nicolas POIROT, Air Liquide China COO YAN Jinping, Advanced Technology China GM Petra Pechova, Air Liquide Houpu Chairman CHEN Shaoyi, Houpu Chairman WANG Jiwen, Houpu President HUANG Yaohui attended the ceremony and visited Houpu’s manufacturing center located in High-tech West District, Chengdu.
In the past two years, ALHP has achieved remarkable results in research & development, manufacturing and promotion of hydrogen energy facilities to meet the Chinese market’s growing demand for hydrogen refueling solutions.
ALHP has manufactured and installed over 20 hydrogen refueling stations (HRS), including multiple demonstration projects in China. Notably, the Daxing International Hydrogen Energy Demonstration HRS in Beijing, put into test run in May, is the world’s largest HRS with a daily capacity of 4.8 tonnes, which could refuel up to 600 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Besides, ALHP also won the HRS project for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics in Zhangjiakou. After completion, with a daily hydrogen refueling capacity of 1,000kg, this station will provide refueling services for 2,000 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles during the games.
Meanwhile, ALHP also values technology research & development. By the end of 2020, ALHP has obtained 17 granted patents and applied them in equipment design and manufacturing. The company has also developed an “HRS supervision system”, which can realise real-time monitoring of HRS operations to ensure overall design safety.
Moreover, ALHP actively participates in the development of hydrogen industry standards in China, such as “Technical Codes of Hydrogen Refueling Station” GB50516-2010 (2021) and “Technical Requirements for Complete Set of Equipment of Hydrogen Refueling Station” by Sichuan Clean Energy Automobile Industry Association.
Nicolas POIROT commented, “The Group has committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and addressing the urgency of climate change and energy transition with hydrogen playing a key role in our roadmap. Over the last two years, ALHP has yielded fruitful results in contributing to the hydrogen energy mobility network in China. Air Liquide expects to cooperate with more stakeholders in promoting hydrogen’s role in clean mobility and industrial decarbonization, and contributing to China’s carbon peak & carbon neutrality commitments.”
